Hi friends! It’s been a while since I’ve hopped on the blog with some updates. And a really long while since I shared a coffee read. I figured this was the best way to play catch up on here and share a few things.
Life with 4 is busy! Especially in summer. We are finding our rhythm over here and it’s been fun. But time management is still quite an adjustment. I totally over-programmed my kids at the beginning of summer. I had no idea what things would look like with a new baby and I wanted to make sure I had all my bases covered. Now I’m doing my best to plan adventures for my big kids and end summer with a bang. We only have 3 weeks left until school so we are going all out!
We are doing what I call “Adventure Week” next week and planning a fun outing every day. Over the course of the week, we’ll be visiting the zoo, the dino park, experiencing the waterpark at Kalahari for the first time, and doing some trampoline hopping at Urban Air. Our kids have also requested that we go back to the Nature and Science center which is free and a short activity, so I’m not disappointed to end the week with something simple. I’m very excited. The kids are pumped. And then we have one final vacation before school starts.
Ok. Let’s hop on to the coffee read updates:
1. I’m hoping to start painting again when we are acclimated to our school routine. If you’re new around here, I’ve been painting champagne bottles for local pick up and I took a break after having baby Will. Right now I have help in the morning so I can run errands and exercise, but from 12:30 on, I usually have all 4 kids on my own. So I really am slim on time. I hope to get back into it in a few weeks! I also have another related project in mind that I can’t wait to share with you. I just need to get started and it will all come together.
2. We are ending summer with a vacation in Nantucket and it’s the trip I’ve looked forward to most all year. We went last year but this is the first time we will be bringing kids and we’re so excited. I’m also very excited about my outfits I’m packing:
Dress: Celia B (wearing size small). Wish it were a medium. Also loved it in Pink!
Headband: Loeffler Randall | Shorts: Agolde | tee: splendid | necklace trio: Anthropologie
Rainbow Sweater: (small) Emerson Fry | Necklace Trio: Anthropologie
Sweater: J.Crew (medium) | Shorts: Agolde | Necklace Trio: Anthropologie
Dress: Mille | Necklace trio: Anthropologie
3. Speaking of Nantucket, I just finished The 5 Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand and loved it. She writes so many novels that take place on Nantucket island and it got me all stoked about different places to visit while we are there. Other books I’ve loved lately: Book Lovers by Emily Henry, Every Summer After by Carly Fortune, and Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score. They are all beach read type of books and just what I’ve needed during this year of pregnancy and postpartum (light reads).
4. I’ve shared on IG stories that I’ve been doing Keto and I really am enjoying it. I will mention again that I’m not breastfeeding so ketosis is something I’m completely comfortable with. I think it’s something that you’d have to consult your doctor about if you’re breastfeeding. Anyway, I have been eating so many proteins and vegetables and I just feel so good. That and I’ve also gotten back into a great work out routine. It’s been my #1 self-care priority so I make it happen at least 4 days a week. I’ve been doing a mix of lifting, barre, and running, and all these things have just made me feel energized and happy. I’ll share some recipes soon!
5. If you don’t follow @bigtimeadulting on Instagram, please give her a follow. She makes me laugh every day.
6. I started Suits but then got sucked into Queen Charlotte and it’s so addicting. Shonda Rhymes never fails! Available on Netflix.
HOW is next week August? HOW do I have a kindergartener?
I hope you all are enjoying Summer and making memories! Thanks for stopping by and reading.

As a new father, I am constantly thinking about how much I want to give my child adventures of a lifetime through the years. I remember the first time I petted an alligator, I thought it was the coolest thing in the world as young boy. This is the first time I’m stumbling across your blog, so I’ll just say nice to meet you, and I look forward to reading more. Hope you enjoy your time in Nantucket!
