Sensory Bins are a big deal around here. Not only is sensory play crucial to development, but I’m a sucker for an activity that keeps my kids entertaining themselves and these are some of the best for their little brains and creativity.
The kids light up when a new one arrives and I love the idea of themed bins for the seasons and holidays. I thought I’d share two different sensory kits we have enjoyed this Fall.
Now I’ll be perfectly honest: I avoid ALL sensory bins with beads/rice. Between my kids dumping them everywhere and often putting stuff in their mouths, it’s not worth it in my book. But playdough and kinetic sand are totally fun and easy to clean for me. Especially when the rule in our house is “anything that gets left on the floor is thrown away”…
I found this cute sensory kit on Etsy that has pumpkin scented dough and fun little fun trinkets. Charlie has been creating “haunted houses” for his action figures. Etsy has tons of sensory kits you can browse and I’m sure you can find any that fit your child’s interests.
Another company I discovered through a friend this year is Young Wild and Friedman. They have some holiday subscription kits and I purchased the Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas bundle and the kids have looooved all the Halloween fun that arrived last week. They have a varierty of small, medium, and large bins. I highly recommend checking them out! Just remember that a lot of sensory bins come with small parts so always be on the lookout, especially if you have a child who still throws things in their mouth.
Are you a fan of sensory kits? I think they make great birthday gifts too!
