Everyone’s talking about Pumpkin Spice Lattes returning to Starbucks and the on set of fall. As much as I would like to hop on this trend, it seems like summer is never ending here in Texas. Lately, I’ve been so preoccupied that it hasn’t even bothered me as much as it usually does every August and September (unless you saw my instastories from today of course- that humidity is killer). But I have started purchasing some cozy pieces in anticipation of cooler weather.

Whenever we enter that transitional period between seasons, I like to keep things simple with my style. I’ve started wearing more muted colors and solid tees with denim. It just makes things easy. The ultimate easy outfit is a black top with jeans. It is not only timeless, but fits in with every season as well.

What are your thoughts on the knotted tee trend? I loooove it. It feels so chic with little effort. I love these pre-knotted tees from Madewell that come in four colors and look so cute with these high rise shorts. If I had to do this outfit over again, I’d ditch the flats for some simple sandals ;) As much as I love these flats, this outfit is too casual for it. And to be honest, I couldn’t find my sandals that morning so I went with what I had! Ha.
