Does it get any more #basic than a girl at the pumpkin patch? I’m not sure nor do I care. It’s a place I’ve always belonged. I have a vivid memory of taking a field trip to a farm as a little girl and walking through the pumpkin patch and actually choosing a pumpkin to pick from a vine. That’s how it is in the midwest– you pick it from where it was grown. I look back at that memory and forever cherish my childhood adventures. Ah, fall in the midwest. It doesn’t get any better. I miss the corn mazes, apple picking, hay rides, and vibrant swale of color. I miss the frost covered fields in the early morning and raking up the leaves in the afternoon. But I’ll take what I can get, and a solo trip to the local ‘patch’ is just the escape this mama needed.

As it gets cooler (and YES- it’s getting cooler!), I love pulling out my sweaters and layers. Honestly, my go-to outfit that I feel most myself in is a pair of jeans, sweater, and chunky scarf. It’s my happy place. Sweater weather will always be my favorite.

What I love about this cozy sweater is its cold shoulder ruffle detail and the fact that it comes in my favorite color for fall: burgundy! Can’t get enough of burgundy or those deep rich colors this time of year. I’m also wearing my favorite black distressed skinnies from Topshop that are 40% and super budget friendly. They run small so make sure to order a size up. I wear them with so many outfits! Definitely a staple piece I recommend ;)

Also, can you believe Halloween is next week? Where has the time gone?! Are any of you dressing up for it? I’m usually pumped about picking a fun costume but this year, all I can think about is will I sleep tonight? So a costume is kind of a the bottom of my priority list right now. We’ll see if I have a sudden inspiration last minute.

Ps: for any of you Stranger Things fans, it returns this week to Netflix! I’m so excited for Season 2!
