Spring has never been my favorite season but I can’t help but love it here in Austin. And with the beautiful weather, I can proudly wear light layers and embrace all the fabulous spring trends that are happening in 2017.
From ruffles, to one shoulder tops, to gingham and florals, I’ve found a zillion different styles that I’m eagerly embracing. And two of my favorites this season are neck scarves and pleated skirts. I love the timeless look of a long skirt and blouse and this scarf just gives this outfit a 50s vibe that I’m loving.
When I originally bought this olive pleated skirt, I envisioned wearing it with a black crop top. But with a slowly but surely developing baby bump, my black crop just didn’t complete this look. I browsed through my closet and found a white blouse I bought back in January that seems to fit with any pleated skirt (or pair of pants for that matter). As soon as I put them on together, I knew the outfit was meant to be.
It’s a lot different that some of the lighthearted florals and dresses I have been wearing lately. This one offers a little more sophistication. I can envision wearing this outfit out in Napa Valley at a Winery or out to dinner at some trendy restaurant. I love this color palette and especially tying it all together with a high-waisted belt. It’s a bit western in my mind. What do you think?

I love this look on you! You wear the neck scarf so well, and I love the olive skirt with your skin tone. The pleats and them hem are great details! I definitely love ruffles for spring. I’m also always a sucker for a classic navy and white or red and white stripe. Can’t help it!
