For a long time, I didn’t really enjoy flowers. Or at least the idea of having them for a few days and then losing them as they wilted and fell apart. Plus they cost money! I’d rather spend that on clothing or jewelry or something that will last me longer than a week! (I also think I secretly chose to dislike flowers because no boy in high school or college had ever given them to me). WOMP. Oh well. Things have changed since then so let’s cut our losses ;)
I now gush when I see flowers. I love images of flowers. Paintings of them. SMELLING them. Admiring them. Photographing them. They are such a beautiful pleasure in life. I don’t buy flowers regularly, but when I do, I make sure they are a centerpiece, seen by all visitors, and documented thoroughly. Let’s be real, I take pictures of everything…
If you’re having a guest over or want to make your place feel a little more festive, a little bouquet of flowers really adds the perfect touch. Whole Foods sells mason jar size flowers which are the CUTEST THING EVER. All caps necessary. I feel like I’ve got a miniature wedding centerpiece in my kitchen when I purchase those bad boys. GAH. I love.
Adding a few flowers and a vase to your home creates a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. They say, “Come in, sit down. Enjoy me. Do you want a cup of tea?”
Buying flowers on the reg is expensive. I get it. But even some fake flowers in a pot or vase can add that touch without having to break the bank… And they’ll last you forever.
Here are some pictures of some little accents I have added to my home! I hope they inspire you. I just love looking at these images.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Eric and I have furniture being delivered today :) We’re carving pumpkins tonight and stopping by a friend’s Halloween barbecue tomorrow. I love holidays! Cheers!
