It’s been quite a while since I shared a coffee read and I thought the start of a new year might be a great time to bring it back. This series is a great way for me to share random things all in one place from favorite books, shows, hacks, and anything else I might think you’ll find interesting!
The above pictures are from our Christmas break trip out to Colorado. My parents moved to Fort Collins a year and a half ago and the whole family was able to spend Christmas together! Eric and I took our kids up to Steamboat and got them on skis for the first time. We drove through quite a snowstorm and saw a wild moose! It was a really fun trip. The horse you see is one that lives on my Aunt and Uncle’s property up there. Seeing horses in the snow is so magical.
It’s been the most beautiful January in Austin. I feel like we had a lot of freezes and cooler days the last two years and we’ve had a handful of 80 degree afternoons which is absolutely refreshing after the holidays. We’ve spent a lot of time outside playing. There’s a short window here where you can open your doors and windows and have fresh air rolling through your house without having to worry about bugs. We’ve been taking full advantage of it!
However, today I’m sitting here finishing this post on a cozy rainy morning, while all three kids are in school, and I’m enjoying this quiet time alone.
So let’s get to the good stuff!
- I’m heading out for an acupuncture facial here shortly. It’s incredible. I have had a hip injury since I gave birth to Jack and I swear that acupuncture is the only thing that’s truly helped me. I’ve had an MRI, been on medication, gone to PT and a chiropractor, but acupuncture seems to have helped the most! What’s cool about the facial is that it’s pregnancy safe, and I do led light therapy with it. I’m obsessed! My skin comes out feeling so refreshed and my whole body relaxes. If you’re looking for a place to go in Westlake, I suggest Tseng Acupuncture and Wellness located at Pura Vida Spa. 2. If you’re looking for the perfect healthy nut/free snack for your kiddos, look no further. Made Good creates the BEST products with ingredients that include plant extracts and are filled with delicious flavor! You can get them at most grocery stores!
3. Here are a few books I’ve read and loved lately:
The Winter in Paradise trilogy series by Elin Hildebrand:
Winter in Paradise, What Happens in Paradise, & Trouble in Paradise
& The Girl with the Louding Voice
I’m currently reading The Yellow Bird Sings. It’s a WWII novel and I can’t quite decide how I feel about it. I’m only 20% in so I’ll keep you posted.
4. I just got all of these matching swimsuits for the kids including baby boy and they are the CUTEST! Minnow Swim has so many adorable suits and outfits for the whole family!
5. Here are a few favorite posts from years past:
Toys that Inspire Creative Thinking & Play, Transitioning to 3 Kids, Our Powder Room Makeover, and a Valentine’s Day Snack Board
6. A show that my kids stumbled upon recently and LOVE is Number Blocks. They also really enjoy Alpha Blocks and I have to say these shows are totally Mom approved! The kids watch TV while we get ready for school and often when I cook dinner. They have learned counting and the alphabet through this show and Charlie is currently practicing a lot of math problems. ALL because he has learned them from the show! Now he keeps asking questions about #s and building blocks with math in his room!
How cute are these vacation finds?! Eric and I are heading to CA soon and warm weather and sunshine has been on my mind!
That’s it for me today. Have a great week!
