Is there anything better than sipping a fresh margarita on a beautiful day? I made this fun reel the other day and thought I’d share the recipe here so you can reference more easily. I wanted to craft my favorite cocktail from scratch at home and make it a little less sugary than the typical margs you find from your favorite restaurants. I decided to start with creating my own jalapeño simple syrup and adding fresh lime, lemon, & chili mango soda water! This is so refreshing for a warm summer night.
For the jalapeño simple syrup:
Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water in a sauce ban and boil. Slice a jalapeño and tauce in. Reduce to simmer and let it cook for 10 minutes. This isn’t super spicy! Let it cool before adding to the margarita.
For the marg:
Using Trader Joe’s chili lime seasoning, coat the rim with a fresh lime and spin on a plate of seasoning to get the perfect zesty rim.
Fill the cup with ice.
Pour 1-2 shots of your favorite tequila and top with 1-2 tbs of simple syrup
Squeeze one lime and one lemon over mixture and fill the rest of the cup with your favorite flavored soda water. Mine is Big Swig Chili Mango!
Stir with a spoon or straw and sip and enjoy!

Of course, you can always skip the simple syrup for an even skinnier version. It will just have less of a margarita taste! Still very refreshing though ;)

I had something similar in Santa Fe last week – yum! Definitely will try this!
