I used to be a little more edgy back in the day when I was newly married and it was really fun. We used to dress up all the time to go out in Chicago but since I’ve lived in Austin and become a mom, my style has moved into more flowy and vibrant dresses. It just makes sense with our weather and the types of activities we do on the weekends now (lots of birthday parties, swimming, and parks!). But there’s just something about a sexy black top in your closet that you reach for when you have date night or need to feel dressed up that just makes you feel edgy and cool again.

That is the story of this top. I saw the dress version last summer and was too late in purchasing it for a black tie wedding, so when the top was released, I immediately ordered because I didn’t want to miss out. It’s safe to say I looove it and it’s been a staple in my closet the last few months when I want to put little effort into getting dressed but also feel a little wow.

How often do you dress up? Or wear something you feel a little more spicy? It’s just a good feeling to feel young and hip again and change out of my occasional pilgrim chic/athleisure style. Ha.
