I’m sitting down at my computer today to type. It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve been able to actually write! Last week I was totally over-programmed with appointments and finally, I have minimal plans on the calendar for the days where the kids are in school! What a fresh of breath air to have my house to myself, no sick kids, time to paint, and actually unwind.
We have a few renovations happening around our house that I’m excited to share with you soon. We have two bathrooms downstairs we are remodeling as well as our laundry room. Our designer Lauren Ramirez just re-branded and her new business name is House Mill Design. I love their team and their work. They have truly made our house feel so beautiful and homey.
It was a whopping 97 degrees outside the other day but for the most part, we have had beautiful Spring weather. Our neighbors down the street have a trampoline they built into the ground and they love when kids come over and use it. So we’ve hopped onto that bandwagon and it’s a great way to burn off some energy for the littles!
This is a crazy month with visitors but we are stoked to host Easter and show family and friends around town. We have quite a few events for Easter that the kids are going to love and I’m just so happy to be in this season.
But let’s get to some of the fun stuff!
- I’ve been making more reels on Instagram and while they are out of my wheelhouse, they are a necessary tool to stay relevant on the app. I still focus the majority of my creative energy on this blog but Instagram is the tool that gets most people over here so I’m trying to stay with it! It was fun creating this beauty reel and this one that shows the assembly of my tuna salad.
2. Have you seen Sing 2? If you have little kids, there’s a good chance you have. It’s so good! The music is the best part. Please listen to Tory Kelly and Taron Egerton’s rendition of There’s Nothing Holding Me Back. It just gets me going!
3. I’ve been really good about trying new recipes and I just made this broccoli salad! I didn’t have all the ingredients but dried cherries & candied pecans made for a interesting add ons to this one, but still unbelievably tasty.
4. Eric and I are about to start 1883. Have you seen it? We loved Yellowstone and heard it’s just as good or arguably better.
5. I shared a little bit of our Easter baskets on IG stories the other day. I’m trying to make them a little more Christ-focused so I ordered Bible Stories Water Wow and an “All about Jesus” activity book. We’re also going to try these Resurrection Eggs to teach the story of Easter to our kids. Obviously we’ll have a little piece of candy or two as well!
6. My friend just introduced me to Young Wild and Friedman which makes the cutest sensory kits for tots. My kids will sit at the table and play with these forever. I LOVE squeezing the sand myself. It’s kind of like a therapy ball! These would make great gifts for kiddos.
