Every holiday is celebrated around here and there is no shortage of crafting and creating. Today I wanted to share a few crafty ideas for you to do with your littles.
Valentine’s Placemats:
We made these for Thanksgiving and they are super simple. Cut out your favorite photo of your child, have them color on a piece of paper, and glue on pieces of magazines, stick on stickers, or have them do a handprint and cut it into a heart. The possibilities are endless. Take the final product over to Fedex to have it laminated and use it as a placemat in your kitchen. Easy to wipe with a sponge and lamination costs less than $5!
We bought these on Amazon and had a blast crafting different animals! An easy afternoon activity, especially when the weather is cold or dreary outside.
I love that we have these for other holidays besides Christmas! Unlike the cookie houses we made via Trader Joe’s, this was really easy to assemble and hold together! The kids enjoy licking the icing as we go but I take pride in keeping the frosting looking pretty and in the lines.
Keepsake Handprint:
This is a simple recipe and takes a few days to dry. To create salt dough, mix 1 cup of flour with 1/2 cup water with 1/2 cup of salt. Roll into a ball and flatten with a baking pin. I had each kid make a handprint and we let it dry for about 6 days. I painted it white and filled the hands in with red. I put a hole in each so we can hang them on our tree later this year!
