One of my favorite things I look forward to on Christmas is having a special meal around the table with family. Christmas Eve is generally the bigger celebration, but I love Christmas night too. My family has spent the last two Christmases with us and my dad, who is a great cook, puts together a fabulous meal. Don’t you just love that cozy feeling of being in the kitchen and letting the aroma of your meal waft through the house?
We each play a role in the holiday celebrating whether its cooking, cleaning, or wrangling kids but I also take care of decorating our interior. I love everything Christmas. Creating a cozy tablescape that is traditional but also has a bit of that holiday sparkle makes me so happy. Our dining room has become a key destination in our home. It is the first space you see when you walk through the front door and to me, it’s both sophisticated and inviting. When we sit in our living room, our view of our neighborhood is through this space and having our table set for the holidays gives our home that extra special Christmasy touch. With wreathes on the windows and garland on the table, it sets the tone for the rest of the house!
I mixed and matched Christmas tree candles that I found last year at Homegoods along with a beautiful garland from our local hardware store Breed & Co. Our dinner plates are William Sonoma and our dessert plates are Anthropologie. I linked as much as I could but a few items are some that we have had for years. The idea is to inspire!
