We’re just going to pretend we don’t see all those pretty scabs from the chigger bites I got the previous week, yeah? Woof. Texas bugs are no joke… I think I see an actual mosquito on my leg in one of these photos. Wow. I know I know. It’s all you can look at now. Sometimes you just want to go out and take a few pictures and not have to put bug spray on, you know?
Anyway, let’s chat!
Hunter Bell NYC is a brand I discovered this summer after seeing some beautiful statement dresses on one of my favorite bloggers Megan Stokes. Since then, I’ve had my eye on the brand but have hesitated in splurging unless something truly felt like me.
I took a poll on Instagram about investment pieces in your wardrobe and along with denim and shoes, quite a few of you mentioned dresses are something you invest in. Those are the exact things I invest in myself and it really makes a difference when I put something on that feels special. I just did a huge purge of my closet and got myself down to about 15 pairs of shoes or less and these Loeffler Randall bow heels are the only thing I reach for for weddings, dressy evenings, or just classing up an outfit a little bit. With a low heel and beautiful gold color, they go with everything and keep me comfortable. I highly recommend sizing up a half size as these run a tad small. They also come in two other patterns and the rose gold is also a beautiful choice.
But let’s get to Hunter Bell NYC. What I love about this brand is the statement sleeves and beautiful prints. This particular Merritt Dress in prairie patchwork has the most beautiful color details and comfortable material. It’s made of cotton poplin which doesn’t mean a whole lot to me since I wear a ton of cotton clothing, but let me describe this material to you as smooth and cooling. It’s like that perfect sheet you order that keeps you comfortable at night because you never get too hot. I love the fun neckline of this particular dress and how flattering it feels on a postpartum body. This is an effortless dress and an easy grab when you aren’t sure what to wear to dinner or a party. I’ve already worn it enough that my husband has commented, “wow you love that dress”… Yep, an easy choice!
The Jenkins dress is another I can’t stop circling back to but I haven’t bit the bullet on. I can’t get enough of the sleeves and subtle lace detail!
