Have you noticed a change in some of the recipes around here? I’ve moved in the direction of more inviting recipes that soothe everyone and have put paleo meals on the back burner. It just feels right to indulge this time of year and really enjoy every bite of the food we’re eating.
I wanted to share this delicious and easy sugar cookie recipe we have been making on repeat over here! Maybe you already have one you know and love. I hope you are enjoying this time in the kitchen as much as I am :)
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
2 sticks butter, softened
1 tbs milk
1 egg
3 cups unbleached flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
powdered sugar for rolling out dough
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, beat sugar and butter together until it forms a creamy mix
Add milk and egg
In a medium bowl, sift flour, baking powder and salt
Gradually pour dry mixture into wet until mixture pulls away from bowl.
Roll into two separate dough balls and refrigerate for 2 hours
Preheat oven to 375 degrees when ready to bake
Take dough out of fridge and roll out first ball with a rolling pin until 1/4 inch thick. Place powdered sugar on your counters to not let dough stick. Move on to second ball once you’re finished with first!
Cut into desired shapes and place on a greased pan or wax baking sheet!
Bake for 7-9 minutes or until sides of cookie start turning a golden brown.
Let sit for 2 minutes before moving to cooling rack!
