Over the weekend we were in Fort Collins celebrating my sister’s marriage. What a contrast of weather from the humid 90 degree fall heat we’ve experienced in Texas lately! Just a few days later, up in the mountains, temps dropped down to 36 degrees and even further to 12 as we departed through a snowstorm! Now I LOVE weather and the opportunity to layer, but a little in between is always nice, right?
Packing is always tough with cooler weather because bundling up means thicker layers! My sister let me borrow her J.Crew Vail parka which I’ve shared before in gray. It’s a timeless piece and gets worn year after year and looks good in every color. I linked a very similar, sturdier version. Don’t let the price tag fool you: it always goes on sale! (currently it’s 50% off). We actually both have the same one from J.Crew factory but currently it’s unavailable online. But usually it re-stocks in November.
I am wearing my newest pair of maternity jeans from Madewell and I love the distressed denim and charcoal color. They make me feel edgy even with my changing body.
I love how easy it is to dress this time of year. All you need is a cozy sweater and jeans to feel put together! Bonus if you add a layer of fuzzy scarf & warm wool coat.
I’m so excited about the cool weather that we brought home with us to Austin! FINALLY, I think fall may be here to stay ;)
