The kids and I are currently watching The Nightmare Before Christmas and I’m totally in the Halloween spirit. We’ve put out spiderwebs on our lawn and hung a few ghosts and whether or not we have trick-or-treaters, I can’t wait to parade them around our neighborhood in costume.
I’m a particularly festive person so making each holiday extra special for my family gives me such joy. I was inspired after seeing another blogger create her snack board to create my own. This one was so fun to make and I was excited to create it with some healthy options!
I think the images are pretty self explanatory in terms of what types of food I used to create but I’ll go ahead and add that I used broccoli stalks for the clementine pumpkins and white and black frosting to create the spider eyes! The ghosts by the blueberries are string cheese! I made this snack board with kids in mind but the candies and blueberries still pose a choking hazard for my littles so I took those away when I served them.
I think there are so many ways you can go with this from adding more veggies (carrots and cucumbers could also make great ghosts!) to doing a more cheese & meat style board. I thought the colors in this one would be more interesting for my kids and even Charlie was stoked about the banana ghosts even (though he wouldn’t touch them). The peanut butter sandwich spiders are dinner tonight for the munchkins!
What kind of goodies do you like to include in snack boards for your kids? So many fun ideas on Pinterest!
