I’ve been really feeling for those people who are more than inconvenienced by COVID-19. Restaurants. Bars. Schools. Hourly workers and the plethora of people out of jobs and unable to find them in the current state of the world. The list goes on and on.
We’ve been doing our best to support a few small businesses where we can but we can’t help everyone, as much as we’d love to. We’ve ordered a few take out meals and I’ve purchased some items from a few small shops. But I figured one of the best ways I can support local businesses is share them through this outlet and I hope I can inspire you to get creative in your own supportive endeavors.
Even if you don’t have money to spare in the moment, there are so many ways to support businesses around you. A lot just want some love on social media! Follow! Like! Share with your friends! The free marketing in that aspect is so helpful. Leave a review. Take a picture of any recent purchase and share. Give them traffic by stopping by their website. All of these small gestures mean a lot to a business trying to stay afloat during these difficult times.
A lot of these companies are doing creative things to make the most of us all being quarantined at home. Whether it’s creating virtual work out classes, to-go pottery kits, or hosting virtual cocktail crafting lessons, many of these are doing fun things to connect to you in the comfort of your home.
I have compiled a list of some of my favorite small businesses including a few shout outs to my family, some that I’ve been fortunate to work with, as well as a few you’ve sent me on Instagram & Facebook. Even if you just click through each business, you’ll be helping in a small way.
