Alone time with each kid is few and far between but when it happens, it is really special. Charlie gets more of it since we’ve been pretty diligent about McKenna’s morning nap and that’s the time we set aside to do a craft or play with toys.
I personally love arts and crafts and coming up with projects to do. But trying to find the perfect pinterest worthy task and then shop for the supplies can not only be a little bit tedious, but also costly.
I had seen a few people and friends on Instagram talking about Tinkertotsboxes and I was eager to try them. The stars aligned when the owner Katie reached out to me about working together. I was pumped!
I like to test things about before I show them to you. Katie sent me a box in February and it was a total hit. So much that when our March box arrived, Charlie was super upset when I told him we had to wait until Daddy could take our picture using them… His endorsement speaks for itself!
So let’s chat Tinkertotsboxes and get to the good stuff!
Tinkertotsboxes is a subscription box filled with 5 hands-on activities that are geared for kids ages 2-5 that ships right to your doorstep. They come with the exact amount of materials and instructions for each project and can be modified to fit each child’s ability. It’s a product created by moms with research on developmentally appropriate activities that spark creativity and fine motor and cognitive skills necessary for development. A few activities in each subscription box are themed around the month which makes them extra fun.
Tinkertotsboxes offers a month-to-month, 3 month, 6 month, of 12 month subscription. But you can also buy special one time birthday boxes or busy boxes to send to friends!
Last month we made valentines and this month we have explored three activities: talking about colors with pipe cleaners and playdough, creating a St. Paddy’s man, and also building jumping squares with bubble wrap and tape! I’ve hidden the remaining activities for another day and I love that I can stretch them out over the month. Not only are they a great way to bond with Charlie, but they spark creativity and ideas for future crafts and lessons in my own brain. Just last month we started talking about letters and our project gave me some inspiration for ways to teach the alphabet to C!
I think the most exciting part of the box is having no idea what’s coming each month! I love when it arrives, Charlie immediately knows it’s for him and it means special time with Mommy. Each box is designed for enough activities for one child but you can add on a sibling box for an additional child!
Right now you can use code THEAUTUMNGIRLBLOG for 20% off your first box if you order a subscription box! Orders close on the 20th of each month so make sure to get yours in before to get the April box! If you’re late, that’s okay! The box you’ll receive is for the following month! My code is valid through the end of March.
