Over the course of the four and a half years I have been blogging, I’ve come to know a lot of brands. And I’ve been fortunate to work with a few that give back to the world around them. These brands have become favorites in my home for a few reasons. Not only do they support wonderful causes, but they are all great quality products that bring a smile to my face. So let’s discuss these brands and their missions!
I found Little Sleepies last fall when I was searching for matching family Christmas Pajamas. I still wear my Christmas jammies nightly and the material is insanely comfortable. They are created with stretchy, eco-friendly viscose fabric and come in so many prints and colors. I bought the lemon matching sleepers for warmer nights this spring. A portion of every sale goes to an organization called Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a foundation for childhood cancer. You can read more about Little Sleepies story here.
I’ve been working with Grace and Lace, as many of you know, for the past couple of months and they are amazing. They have great quality pieces and a portion of every sale goes towards building orphanages in India. They are a company that was featured on Shark Tank! Melissa, the company founder, started the business after being on bedrest for two weeks and keeping herself busy by doing something with her hands. You can read more of her story here. All of the apparel at Grace and Lace is made in house!
I’m sure you’ve seen these adorable hand-stitched dolls all over the internet. What you may not know is that each of these dolls is crafted by hand by women in Peru who are paid with sustainable, fair-trade income. That means the company puts fairness and the treatment of their workers first before their profits. And because this company is family company, they focus on giving back to children, specifically ones suffering from hunger. For each doll sold, they give 10 meals. This bump shot was taken when I was pregnant with Char and head to toe in Everlane! I purchased my first cashmere sweater on Black Friday from Everlane, not because they were having a huge sale, but because they were donating a large part of their proceeds to a fund with a mission to reduce plastic in our oceans. That’s what I love about Everlane: not only are their products sustainably made, but they continually give back to the world around them. I wrote a whole post on them a few years ago and my love for them continues to grow. The quality of their products is the best and they practice radical transparency so you know exactly what your dollar does. They are the best at basics and you can look forward to wearing their pieces for years to come.
I’m sure there are many many more brands out there doing wonderful things for the world and I just haven’t discovered them yet. Let me know your favorites if they aren’t the above!
