There’s something about winter that has me getting creative with all the warm and cozy recipes! After doing Faster Way to Fat Loss, I still feel inclined to cook as many Paleo/Whole30 meals as possible. If you’ve browsed any of my previous recipes, you’ll notice that’s a trend around here. I’m not a chef by any means, but I do like a variety of healthy meals!
Today’s recipe is turkey meatballs by Flavor the Moments! It’s a good one and the leftovers are just as delicious :)
INGREDIENTS:
For Marinara Sauce:
28 oz can crushed tomatoes
1/2 onion diced
4 cloves garlic minced
1 tsp rosemary
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1 tbs maple syrup
For Meatballs:
1 lb ground turkey
1 egg
1/2 onion diced
2 garlic cloves minced
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp salt
3 tbs olive oil
1/4 cup almond flour
olive oil to coat skillet
DIRECTIONS:
Marinara Sauce:
Sauté onions in a separate skillet until translucent, usually 5-10 minutes
Add garlic and sauté a few more minutes
In a medium sized bowl, mix the remainder of the ingredients and then add to skillet
Let it boil and then reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes
Meatballs:
In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except olive oil. I used my hands!
Roll into 10 even balls
Heat olive oil on a non-stick skillet (we use cast iron and I swear by it)
Cook meatballs until they are seared on all sides.
Add marinara sauce and cook on low for another 20 minutes!
For Zucchini Noodles:
Sauté on stove with olive oil & salt until cooked through or easily chopped by a spatula.
Serve warm with meatballs & sauce on top. Enjoy!
