There’s nothing better than starting the week feeling energized and like you’ve set yourself up for success. There are three things I do every week that make me feel ready to take on Monday.
MEAL PLAN & GROCERY SHOP:
Starting the week off on the right foot always means having a productive Sunday for me. Now a productive Sunday can also coincide with a lazy Sunday afternoon! As long as I meal plan and make a list for the grocery store, I’ve already prepared myself for success. I often can’t get to the store until Monday morning with the kids but I’ll have a list and a plan in place! It feels good and is actually kind of fun :)
I try to make one healthy recipe a week that takes a bit of work and then do some of our usuals: ground turkey tacos, salmon + veggies, burgers and the likes. This week, I’m preparing paleo buffalo chicken casserole in the hopes of eating something cozy while also eating low carb.
CREATE A SCHEDULE:
My world revolves around my kids nap times. It actually has helped me so much mentally to just know that that’s part of my day (and my break!) because I make the most of those hours they are awake. In the mornings, I’ll often do something between naps for ME, which is generally a work out. And the afternoons are saved for activity for them before dinner.
I’ve mentioned that I’m training for a race so my goals have been laid out for me, but I’ve had sick kids and odd weather, so it’s changed things up a LOT. I’m temporarily quarantined to my house right now so I’m going to have to get creative with some youtube work outs! If you missed my training schedule for the half marathon, you can see it here!
HAVE A RUNNING TO-DO LIST
I have to put EVERY little task like laundry, cutting my kids nails, and making a trip to the container store on my to-do list. Sadly, I won’t remember the simple things like finger nails unless I have it written down. And at this current point in time, I can’t seem to get laundry done while my kids are around either… They are just e v e r y w h e r e and into everything so and I have to save those tasks for my precious free time. Such is life! No complaints. I also just feel so accomplished having more things checked off that list!
I’ve been sharing my weekly meal planning with you on Instagram and you have loved it! I thought I’d share a sample meal plan with you here since there are many of you aren’t Instagram users and just enjoy checking in on the blog! These are very simple and follow my Faster Way to Fat Loss program for the most part. So low carb/high fat Monday/Tuesdays and regular days the rest of the week!
*Quick note about this outfit before I go: this Outdoor Voices tee is SO SOFT and flattering. I got it for Christmas and am so excited about it! I’ve been wearing a lot more work out tees instead of tanks and I also love Zella.
I just got these running shoes from Brooks Running and you can do a survey about your feet and running style to get shoes customized for you. So cool.
Have a great week!
