November! My third favorite month of the year behind October and December. And then my favorite month after that is probably April in Austin.
This time of year is always so exciting with the holidays just around the corner. Halloween ends and then everyone is ready to pounce on Christmas but I enjoy holding onto fall a little longer. We only have 3 weeks until Thanksgiving and while I will be starting some holiday content around here, we’ll be waiting until after Turkey day to put up our decorations and blast those favorite Christmas tunes.
I’ve been really feeling the seasonal spirit though through my kids. Every once in a while the cutest painted pumpkin or piece of art comes home in a backpack. They have days where they dress up in orange or talk about the leaves changing. It’s the sweetest and reminds me of all those activities as a young kid!
Charlie doesn’t understand holidays yet but he loves things like twinkling lights (they hang year round at my parents’ house!) and pumpkins. I can’t wait to see his face light up when we start decorating our house.
Surprisingly, I have not begun my holiday shopping! I’m usually halfway done by now but this year, I’ve been consumed by so many other things. But I’m eager to start browsing and creating those gift guides for you!
I recently purchased this sweater blazer and it’s been a favorite in my closet since it arrived. It’s the perfect cozy fall layer that looks Christmasy with a tartan scarf. It’s oversized so I purchased an extra small and it still fits over a sweater. You guys loved this in instastories so I thought it was worth photographing and styling a different way.
One of our favorite things to do on a Saturday morning when we don’t have plans is to visit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. It was crisp and cool the morning we shot these photos and I felt extra festive with the layers! There is currently an exhibition of forts called Fortlandia made for kids to explore and we LOVED it! So expect more photos to be taken at this location :)
