Today I’m talking everything Faster Way to Fat Loss!
I know the above pictures aren’t your typical side by side mirror selfies showing the same angles, but I thought they were good enough to show you a bit of where I burned some fat: my tummy!
I first heard of this program through another blogger (or two). It seems to be a hot trend right now but I had heard a lot about it for over a year before I finally committed to it.
Faster Way to Fat Loss is a combo of intermittent fasting + carb cycling. It’s counterintuitive to what I had always understood about healthy eating: to always eat breakfast and have small meals throughout the day. However, there is a lot of science behind this and in the beginning of July, I started doing the 8-16 fast window (digest for 8 hours and fast for 16). I wanted to see if fasting was even going to be manageable for me before paying for the program. And it all started to make sense. The fasting actually turned out to be pretty easy and I was eager to see how the rest of the process would work! I honestly thought I could get away without paying for it, but I realized there were too many questions I had and I just wanted all the instructions.
FWTFL is $200. That’s nothing if you’ve tried other things like I have. I did a program that was successful back in 2012 but it cost me more than 3x that amount and after I finished, I literally had nightmares about eating carbohydrates again. I’ve also done Whole30 and felt amazing but the thing I love so much about Faster Way is that I feel like I have more options and I’m eating so many DELICIOUS meals, including carbs, and still burning fat! It’s insane! I truly never thought it would be possible to lose weight while enjoy something like oatmeal or rice.
So how does it work exactly? When you sign up, you sign up for an 6 week program. The first four weeks train you to adjust to a new way of living. Each week there are new concepts introduced which makes it way easier to understand the process and not feel overwhelmed with too much info at once! You get added to a Facebook group and team where you build each other up (although if you don’t have facebook, don’t worry- you get emails too!) I loved the founder Amanda’s motto: progress not perfection. I totally went off the rails for my brother’s wedding and got excited about hopping right back in after I returned. And I didn’t feel bad about myself for enjoying the weekend!
You get meal plans, grocery lists, in-home work outs, and a coach to work with through your whole journey. Honestly, they have an answer for everything! And new moms, this is something you can do while breastfeeding! There are a few adjustments you make to make it work for you.
My goal for this was to burn that postpartum tummy fat and really get my energy back. But I have had other successes with it that have been just an added bonus. I haven’t felt that afternoon crash and urge to nap. I have been inspired and motivated to push my body harder and make my health and fitness a priority. And really I think I’ve just found balance in everything I do again. Moderation truly is key. In terms of numbers (you aren’t supposed to weigh yourself during the process but I did!), I’ve lost 6 lbs so far. I still have a week left.
There are a few challenges I wanted to share with you just so you’re aware and know what to expect. I think this was pretty easy for me to do with my schedule in terms of getting those workouts in and making every meal in my home. You can totally do this even if you work full time or travel but I don’t imagine it’s that easy. The main thing about this program is you really have to plan. You want to be able to plan your macros (protein vs carb vs fat) so you can get the right amount in every day which is key for this to work. But I really think that if you want to see something different happen, you have to try something new. And I truly think Faster Way is a sustainable lifestyle!
Also, on regular macro days, it can be hard to eat enough carbs. Not a bad problem to have, right? On a fat loss program? WHAT! I’ve loved my meals so much and have felt barely restricted.
I’m so happy I decided to try this and I truly feel I’m physically at my best right now. I’m now inspired to possibly run the Austin Half Marathon this February as a means to keep myself in the exercise groove.
I did sign up for the affiliate program so if you decide to join Faster Way, I will make a commission. I’ve shared all my pros and cons with you here and if you still have any questions or want to know if it’s right for you, please email me! theautumngirlxo@gmail.com :) The next round is THIS Monday, September 9th!
