One of my favorite parts of the day is bedtime. And no, it’s not because I’m super eager to have a break from my kids, though it IS nice after how hard we play. It’s because it’s the time of day when we come together as a family. Some nights we have Dad with us and it’s the best! We play, we sing, and we read after bath time! The kids get changed for the evening and I diffuse oils as we wind down from the day. On the occasional evening, we’ll listen to classical music too. I truly love the feeling of putting everyone in relax mode. Especially myself! ;)
We have a lot of favorite books we’re reading right now including Goodnight Moon, Bedtime on Sesame Street, Playtime with Sophie, and all the ‘First Word’ books. Sometimes Charlie will point things out for McKenna and it’s the sweetest. I love that they now interact and *almost* play together.
With this crazy Texas heat, we’ve been drinking TONS of extra water. Charlie is such an active little man who is everywhere and into everything. I’m holding on to these moments where I can still fit both babies in my lap. I love that I’m still their favorite person in the whole world (Dad too!) and all they want to do is hug and love on me. Being their mama is truly everything to me and I always want to provide the best and be the best I can for my babies.
