If you’re looking to book a family vacation somewhere beachy, add Siesta Key to your list of contenders. This was by far one of the most convenient and fun family vacations we have taken! And we hope to take again :)

I didn’t do a great job documenting the town or beach, but I did snag a few photos of the amazing rental property we stayed at via Tropical Breeze! We had our own pool at our place called the Crab Shack which was awesome for us with two babies because we could lay out and swim while they napped! Not only that, but we were located about 2 blocks from the beach and 100 yards from town. We also traveled with family friends and it was nice to have our own private space to hang out!

Everything is so close and easy to get to in Siesta Key. Here are a few spots I recommend!

The Lobster Pot (had to have seafood and the lobster was delicious)
The Local Bean (coffee & breakfast)
Olaf’s Creamery (get the coconut ice cream!)
Mini Donuts (exactly what it sounds like- so so good)
The Cottage (delicious ceviche and apps!)

Siesta Key Beach– this is where we walked in the morning a couple of times and dipped our toes in the ocean. It’s rated one of the most beautiful beaches in the country! It’s famous for it’s fine sand.

Turtle Beach– our friends ventured here while our kids were napping and found tons of seashells! According to trip advisor, it’s the less crowded beach.

Fish- the guys went out for a fishing excursion while the girls spent time by the pool. You can hire a guide to take you out and show you great spots! It’s an awesome way to get a really fresh dinner too.

Visit the Aquarium– our friends did this with their kids on the day we arrived while it was raining! Always an option if the weather isn’t terrific.

RELAX! That’s what people go to Florida for, right? Whether it’s taking a walk along the beach, laying by the pool, eating delicious seafood, sipping a cocktail, or just hanging out in town, everything is RIGHT there and you’re sure to have a wonderful trip.
