SIBFEST 2K19! (Not sure why we still say 2k but I guess we do….)
A family tradition passed down from my dad and his siblings, ‘Sibfest’ is an annual get together with my siblings and our growing tribe. I have a brother and a sister getting married in the next 12 months so there was much to celebrate! We have used several family weddings and reunions in past years as our get togethers, but no matter what, we find a way to see each other at least once a year! It’s the best.
After Eric and I realized McKenna was an easier baby than expected, we booked our first trip as a family of four to visit Colorado (where my brothers live) for Memorial Day! We rented a house in the mountains, invited my siblings, and when everyone was able to make it, we deemed it it our annual get together! Lucky for us, we’ll have plenty more in the next year :)
I can’t say traveling with littles is easy in any way, but I can say it was well worth it to be with this crew up in the mountains. We stayed in Breckenridge, and with the off-season weekend, there wasn’t much to do other than hang out. Just what this mama needed! Fresh mountain air, face masks, home-cooked meals, hot tub evenings, games, and walking around town made for an excellent weekend of bonding. We finished our reunion at my brother’s house with a barbecue catching up with friends and cousins.
One of the reasons I want to have four kids close in age is because I want them to grow up with the same type of family experience that I had. I hope that Charlie and McKenna become as close as my siblings and I are!
Feeling so very blessed after the weekend and excited for the future of Sibfest. Scroll to the bottom for a short video of our trip!
