Hi Friends! I have shared lots of Mom stuff lately because that’s the season of life I am in, but my sister requested I share some registry ideas since she and my brother are both getting married and might need a little advice!
Now that Eric and I have been married almost 5 years, we have really established a sense of great items we use routinely that we registered for and some that we wished we had but did not! I thought I’d round up some of our registry favorites in hopes of helping you navigate this exciting time in your life!
First, I’ll say that Eric and I LOVE entertaining. So our registry and favorite items cater a bit to that.
Let’s dive right in! Here are our favorites:
Cast Iron Pans (if you like to cook!). We never registered for these and were just gifted them for Christmas and now they are regularly used for eggs, bacon, fajitas, and any dish we want to sauteé evenly on our stove! We got so sick of our All-Clad pans because even with butter, pam, or greasy spray, our food would always stick!
Big Knife Block (we wish we did bigger) I don’t know the best knife brands but you could definitely investigate when you’re in the store!
Vitamix (we didn’t have this and ended up buying it later on and it’s our most loved kitchen item!)
Kitchen Aid– a must must have!
Big Salad Bowl– we love our wooden one!
Cuisinart Food Processor– so good for making soups, dips, and more! Not used allll the time but when I have a recipe that requires it, I’m so grateful I have it. Such a nice kitchen item!
Casual China– we opted out of the fancy China and I thought maybe we’d regret it but we don’t. We registered for casual china and love our Juliska! Such a pretty pattern. So simple and can be dressed up with so many things for holidays!
Big Soup Pot– the bigger, the better! Again, we love to entertain.
Nice napkins + placemats– if you love hosting as much as we do! Makes a huge difference when you set a table :)
Nice sheets & towels– didn’t realize how much a difference great sheets make, but they DO! We have Damask. As far as towels, don’t do white! Ours are sooooo dirty. We did neutral colors because we were renting and weren’t sure what our future home would look like!
Frames- to each their own, but nice picture frames are still a favorite thing we received! Mostly because they store some of our most treasured memories (like our wedding day!). People also have fun gifting these :) Personal favorites are Mariposa, Kate Spade, and I recently discovered Beatriz Ball! I have a Vera Wang frame and I love the frame itself but it is no longer the silver color it was when we got it! If you are ever struggling with a gift to give me, NICE PICTURE FRAMES ARE THE ANSWER. HA! ;)
I don’t really want to give you a Don’t list because every couple is different with what they like to do, serve, and overall, in how they enjoy their home. I’ll just tell you a few things we added since getting married and a few things we haven’t really used yet!
Since we got married, we have bought a champagne bucket, simple serving bowls, Christmas plates, and our Vitamix.
We registered for way too many wine and cocktail glasses. Unless we’re having a party of 50 wine drinkers over, it’s not necessary at all… We literally seem to have a wine glass for every type of wine. It’s a bit much!
Things we got that we haven’t used much or ever:
Our roasting pan… but I think someday when we host Thanksgiving at our house, we will! But it’s been untouched for 5 years.
Our juicer… We used it at the beginning but I much prefer a smoothie that doesn’t waste ingredients
Le Cruiset pans– although I have zero regrets registering for these since I think making casseroles for the whole family is in my near future!
Spice Rack- alright so we use this a lot but it has spices we have neverrrr used. I have had much more luck just getting a simple plastic spice rack container from Target and building my own spice set based on recipes I make! Plus the spice rack gets so dusty and dirty and is another thing sitting out on your counter creating clutter (my two cents ha).
For those of you already married, any favorite items or regrets? Feel free to share in comments so others can see!
