I’m so excited to share McKenna’s nursery today! When we moved into our house last summer, I had plans to share Charlie’s but after we found out we’d be expecting a girl, we decided to change up our rooms! All of the furniture we bought was white so easy to switch from a boy to girl room. We painted the nursery pink and our second bedroom blue and bought Charlie some big boy wood furniture and a crib that can be converted to a toddler bed.
We had so much fun making McKenna’s room super feminine. (Yes- WE. Eric picked out her art! ;) We chose the color ‘Elizabethan Ice Pink’ for her walls which is a super light airy shade of pink. We found art and her lamps at Homegoods for a fantastic price and moved some art from Char’s room into hers (elephant canvas and stuffed animals). Honestly, it doesn’t usually look this clean or pretty. We have to shift some stuff around in the book case since Charlie can reach and throw all of it so the unicorn generally stays on top!
All of M’s furniture is from Pottery Barn Kids with the exception of her little chair which is Lulu and Georgia. Ironically, the chair is called the ‘McKenna’ chair. Might be why we picked it ;)
There is something so refreshing about spending time in a nursery. A reminder of my childhood, wild imagination and endless adventure. I love sitting in this room with my kids and enjoying the natural light, books, and toys. It’s such a clean and crisp space that makes me feel at peace.
Over time, I’m sure we’ll add more but right now, it’s perfect just the way it is.
