SHE IS HERE! Our sweet McKenna was born after just 90 minutes after I was induced! We are SO in love with our new addition and are adjusting to life as a family of four. I have been a little nervous about how Charlie would handle a new sibling but he was so sweet when he met his sister and my heart doubled in size. I had no idea he would even be aware of another baby but he bent over to hug her right away and it was such a special moment.
McKenna weighed only a few more ounces than Charlie at birth and was born with lots of dark hair and red skin. She looks so much like I did as an infant and I wonder if she’ll turn blonde as a toddler or stay dark like her dad. I love genetics.
McKenna was my great grandmother’s maiden name and my middle name before I was married. I told Eric that I really wanted to use McKenna as a first or middle name for one of our children (boy or girl) since I was dropping it to keep my maiden name. We love using family names and this one has always been so special to me.
We’ve been home a few days and it’s been a bit crazy in our house but we are so grateful for our visitors and the extra help. I’ve been putting Charlie to bed myself so he gets a little mama one on one time and so far, our transition has been going well. He is so intrigued by his little sister!
Thank you so much for all your love and support! This is literally the best feeling in the world and I’m so excited to get to know this new little person and watch babies grow together. Feeling so blessed and in love with my little family!
