Dear Peanut,
Yes, I’ve called you Peanut since day 1! I wanted to have a nickname for you and your due date was pushed back 8 days because you were teeny tiny at first so immediately you became my peanut.
It’s been quite a ride these last 10 months with you! We found out we’d be expecting you the day after your dad’s birthday and it was the greatest gift.
You have no idea how loved you are already are, sweet girl! You’re the first girl grandchild for all of your grandparents! Kind of a special title if you ask me.
You have been quite an active baby! I started feeling your kicks as early as 18 weeks! You tend to roll way more than your brother did and the second I lay on my back for even a second, you protest. I have a feeling you’ll definitely have your way of doing things.
We decided on your name right after Labor Day and we can’t wait to watch you own it and share it with the rest of the world.
We’re so excited to meet you in a few days. We’ve been waiting a long time for you and can’t wait to share all our special family traditions with you. Right now your brother runs the house over here and we think you might get him wrapped around your finger. We can’t wait to see you two interact together and become buddies.
We’ve bought all the things pink for you. Your room is pink, your clothes are pink, and even your paintings and blankets and furniture are pink. Ironically, if you’re anything like I was as a little girl, you’ll probably be a huge tomboy and demand we change it all to blue and beg to wear matching clothes with your brother. And that’s perfectly fine too :) We want you to be YOU. We just had fun getting ready because we’re so excited to meet you.
We cannot wait to see what you’ll look like and who you’ll be like! Will you be blonde and blue-eyed like your brother? Will you be born with jet black hair and dark skin like your aunt? Will you look more like your dad or me? Or will you totally be your own little person?
Will you be an angel sleeper like your brother? Or will you be a little more of a night owl? Will you love to relax like Mama or be out in the action like Dad? We love playing this guessing game but we’re really going to love watching your personality unfold.
We want so much for you, kiddo, and we’re going to do everything we can to raise you to be a strong, independent thinker, and someone who loves and respects others. We’ll go on lots of adventures and play make believe. We’ll try a variety of sports and activities to see what you like. And we’ll have so much fun together. I promise.
You’ll be making your appearance any day now Baby Girl and all anyone in our family can talk about is meeting you! We love you so much and can’t wait to snuggle you soon.
Love always,
Mama
