Delayed gratification… can be the best! There is always a time in life when it’s totally worth it to splurge a little and treat yourself. I had my eye on a monogrammed tote from Madewell for years and I took advantage of a Black Friday sale to buy it for myself. I’m not a huge bag person. I have a few for different seasons that are cute and convenient but I don’t have a growing collection or find myself browsing options. But this leather bag has always been something I’ve loved and it wasn’t expensive either! The discounted price over the holidays made it impossible for me to say no and I saved opening the box until Christmas so I could really enjoy it as a gift to myself.
When I think of my style, it has evolved quite a bit over the years and has become pretty laid back and casual with a feminine touch. I love how this bag blends all seasons in my wardrobe. It’s also the perfect size and a smaller version of the transport tote. It zips which differs from other totes and I think that’s so necessary if you travel or tend to have bags that spill in the car (the worst!).
Also, if you’re in the market for some new sunglasses, trust me when I say you’ll LOVE these Smith sunnies. Smith is a brand that makes a ton of ski goggles and it was important for me to something polarized. They are under $200 and I love that they can slide right on top of my head without ripping my hair. (I know…. sunglasses aren’t meant to be worn on our heads but let’s be real, we all do it! #convenience). They fit so easily in my bag and I feel so put together and stylish with them on!
Over the past year, I have prioritized investing in my closet instead of buying cheap items that can only be worn once. It is so important to me to find good quality and this bag and these sunglasses fit the bill. I know they are things I’ll wear and love for years.
