I’m feeling sentimental and happy as I reflect on this past year. And on my life right now. The holidays are here, our baby is a little boy, and our family will be growing in February. There are countless holiday celebrations ahead and my family will be coming to visit so soon. There is so much to be thankful for.
It’s been a long time since I’ve shared a post dedicated to happiness and today it’s about 9 simple things in my life making me smile.
Peppermint Hot Chocolate– hold the skinny. It’s hard not to want to have allllll the holiday treats this year. My favorite indulgence has been the peppermint hot cocoas I get from Starbucks. I tried a skinny, just to be healthier. HA. Not the same. And not that much healthier. So the full cal, rich & creamy, (whip cream on top!) is my go-to order and I LOVE it.
Oversized sweaters. They are the only thing really fitting me these days and I wear them non-stop! Really enjoying this winter pregnancy :)
Running toddler hugs. Literally one of the best feelings in the world. I’ll squat down with my arms open and say “Come here Charlie”… And my little man will come running (in the most drunken form- ha!) and give me the biggest squeeze. My heart melts every time.
Holiday cards. I eagerly stroll to the mailbox every afternoon in anticipation of these.
Bubblebaths. Charlie’s been going down at 6:30 pm lately and I’ve been taking advantage of our new bath tub. Such a luxury that I know I’ll be missing for a while when new baby comes! Alone time. A good book. And bubbles everywhere!
Content. One of the things I love about this time of year is I am constantly inspired. I have been able to produce so much content for my blog and having all these ideas and taking pictures and getting creative- it gives me joy! I hope you’ve been enjoying it too :)
Health. The older I get, the more I appreciate mine. I’m grateful that our family has been healthy and this pregnancy has been healthy and our family is thriving.
1 Hour Device Free. We’ve been doing a device free hour before bed up in our playroom to totally focus all our attention on Charlie. I know it sounds silly to plan this (maybe this should be a given), but with our busy jobs, we spend a lot of time on our phones. So planning this alone time where we can all be present has been really important to us.
Holiday Lights. Aren’t they the best? I love seeing all the festive displays all over town. At night, I love staring at our tree and listening to cozy Christmas playlists. It gives me such a sense of peace.
What’s making you particularly happy right now?
-XO-
