One of my favorite recipes to make in fall and winter is chili. I have so many memories of my dad spending Sunday afternoons cooking this up for our family. I am not as patient as he is! He would always cook one for hours on the stove and add spices and do taste tests (he’s an incredible cook), but I did adopt one for my crock pot that I love and fills our house with the most delicious aroma!
I’m all about ease in the kitchen. This recipe only requires a few ingredients and steps to create. I prefer to make my own chili seasoning but if you want this to be even more simple, you can buy a pre-made packet at the store.
Ingredients:
2 lb ground turkey
1 can kidney beans
30 oz tomato sauce
1 15oz can diced tomatoes
1 green pepper diced
Chili Seasoning via My Baking Addiction
4 tablespoons of chili powder.
1 teaspoon garlic powder.
1 teaspoon onion powder.
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes.
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (if you like it spicy)
1 teaspoon dried oregano.
2 teaspoons paprika.
2 tablespoons ground cumin.
Directions:
On a stove top and with some oil, cook turkey until brown.
Pour into crock pot and add tomato sauce and diced tomatoes.
Drain kidney beans and add to mixture with green pepper.
In a separate bowl, mix spices together and then add to crockpot.
Stir everything together and cook on high for 4 hours.
Add cheese for extra taste!
