I’m officially 18 weeks today! However, these pictures were taken at 16. Baby is now roughly the size of an artichoke! And I’m starting to get my energy back :)
Lucky for me, my cravings have dissipated. It’s been easier to get back in a healthy routine (although I don’t pass up dessert if it’s offered). I think the cooler weather has helped with my exercise efforts and therefore, energy levels. So I’m extra grateful for that. Charlie is now in daycare 2 days a week so I also get a little bit of a break. It’s been great for me to feel organized and has helped me out mentally so much!
I mentioned in our pregnancy announcement that this pregnancy has felt different than the last. Besides the different first trimester systems, I’ve also felt a lot more tugs around my belly and really early on. I thought that since I’ve done this before, I wouldn’t have feel so much ligament pulling, but I have! I also felt Baby Girl moving much earlier on. Or maybe it’s because I know how to identify the feeling, I noticed it sooner. It really does feel like a bunch of popcorn popping in my abdomen. It often happens as I get into bed at night and it’s kind of perfect because I have a moment to just enjoy it and bond with her.
With Charlie, we knew the name the second we found out he would be a boy. It was so easy. This time we aren’t quite sure and it’s been fun discussing different names! We haven’t agreed on many but I think we’re starting to turn a corner. Honestly, it’s been so fun brainstorming together!
Last pregnancy, I bought a few staple maternity clothes including jeans, leggings, shorts, and a few tops. This time around, I want to buy as little as possible and instead find pieces that I can wear after. I think it won’t be too hard if I find some great sweaters and dresses!
It’s still pretty warm in Austin and will continue to be for many months. I found this tshirt dress that’s texture almost makes it look like a sweater dress and is the perfect piece to transition to fall! It’s super tight- I wish I had ordered a size up! It’s almost sold out but hopefully will be re-stocked (it has been before so we shall see).
I snazzed this outfit up a bit with my favorite black faux leather jacket that’s under $100! I love the edge it brings to this outfit. Even though I live in a warm climate, I can’t help but collect more leather jackets. There’s something about them that just says FALL.
I hope you’re having a great week! Xo
