When I was pregnant with Charlie, I had the doctor tell me over the phone that he would be a boy. There was no fun surprise whatsoever. I called up Eric afterword and gave him a chance to guess, but I wish we had done something fun together.
Have any of you heard of a gender reveal cake? My parents had no idea what I was talking about. Gender reveals weren’t a thing when they had babies. As soon as my doctor had information on the sex of our child, the office printed it on a paper and put it in an envelope for me. I picked it up and took it to a bakery where they crafted a cake that would reveal blue or pink frosting when cut into.
Since we had visitors in town, I thought it would be fun to cut the cake while they were here. And also get our picture taken :) I picked up the cake early on a Friday and spent the whole day anxiously awaiting 5pm when everyone would be home and ready to dig in!
Any last guesses as to whether or not baby is a boy or girl?
We are happy to be sharing that a little GIRL will be joining our family in February!
My heart was racing and I thought I might start crying with the news! I couldn’t believe it! Part of me thought it might be a girl with how different this pregnancy has felt, but part of me thought- well heck, I’m going to be a boy mom forever! Either way, we would have been so happy. We actually had the perfect boy’s name picked out but will have to work on agreeing on a girl’s name.
I’m just so excited for Charlie to be a big brother and to grow our family. I can’t wait to get some girlie clothes and dress her up!
As always, thank you for your continued love for our family! I can’t wait for this next chapter!
