COOL isn’t really an adjective I’d use to describe myself. I don’t think I’ve ever been cool. I’m vibrant; I’m excited; I’m energetic; I’m outgoing, but I’ve never been that sophisticated, in-the-know kind of person. I’ve always been a bit naive. And I’m 100% okay with that! Being cool is overrated.
However, being a COOL MOM means something totally different to me. Being a cool mom means feeling comfortable in my own skin and doing fun activities with my kid. It’s rolling the shoulders back, taking a deep breath, and saying “Okay I’ve got this”. It’s feeling like I can be me again even though I’ve embraced this totally new role in my life. It’s being a responsible, hands-on, loving parent while also being an adult with a life of her own, who still has fun.
Parting of feeling like myself is being somewhat fashion forward. When I put on this blush kimono & cami, I felt my feminine style and role as mom colliding head on and my first thought was, cool. Normally I gravitate towards all the dresses at Morning Lavender but I felt this outfit was more suitable for my adventures around town with Charlie. I styled it with my white jeans and beach hat (only $19!) which gives this outfit an airy summer vibe. The hat is the added coolness.
This is an outfit I can wear to those early dinners with the family where I sit on a patio and enjoy a glass of wine while simultaneously attending to my eager child. Ha, we’ll see how long I last until he starts grabbing everything, but for now, it’s my happy place. Out and about. Enjoying life. Taking it all in.
What makes you feel like a cool mom?

You ARE a cool mom! You’ve got great instincts, a sense of balance with your different roles, a “joie de vivre”….
AND style!! 😍
