One of my goals for 2018 was to find balance in my life again. And I feel like I’ve been doing a great job of achieving that! I know part of it is due to Charlie being a little older and therefore, a bit more independent. We’ve moved into a nap schedule which has been helping with time management and sleep! But part of our balance has been the effort we have put into getting out. I was anxious about getting a sitter one night every weekend but Eric pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and I’m so happy he did. We have regular date nights also take turns letting each other get out and it makes for two happy parents!
Since I have one night a week to dress up, I like to take advantage. But I don’t feel the need to try too hard. Remember this post from the fall? Yes, I still adore this dress (and it’s now on major sale if you missed your chance to buy it before). But I thought it would be fun to show you another way to style this outfit and dress it down. I decided to pull a cozy sweater over my dress and boom, a winter date night look is born! It’s comfortable and cute without being overly dressy! The boots just give it a little vroom. They’re also on sale– now under 55% off!
I’ve realized over the course of the last 4 months that my style is already starting to change. I prefer simple clothing and basics that I can re-wear and style with different pieces. Life is more casual but I still love to dress up! I don’t think that will ever change. So if I can find outfits to mix and match these two factors, I’ve found gold!
You’ll notice some repeat offenders coming soon to the blog and styled differently. The whole point of investing in certain pieces is knowing that you’ll wear them over and over again. I want to show you how :) Will that be something that interests you? I love hearing your feedback.
I hope you have a great start to the week! Charlie is officially 4 months today and I turn 30 on Wednesday. HERE WE GO!
