The month of November is going to fly. We have visitors this week and then we’ll really get into the Holiday spirit with the annual Junior League Christmas Affair next weekend. And then its Thanksgiving!
ACA weekend is something I look forward to each year in Austin and if you haven’t been before, I highly recommend going. There are so many fun events including girls night out, date night, breakfast with Santa, and plenty of shopping from a variety of vendors. It’s all for a good cause too as it supports the various missions of the Junior League and is 100% volunteer run.
Another reason I love the weekend before Thanksgiving– we put up our tree!
My favorite thing to wear when it’s really chilly is a cozy sweater and a chunky scarf. It just gives me all the feels. I honestly miss the dreary cold winter days in Chicago where I could curl up by the fire with no agenda and spend the day all cozied up. Craving a wintry morning and good book right now….
One color I love for fall and winter is gray. It’s simple to mix with black and white and looks great with a pop of color. My exact sweater is sold out but I’m loving this and this. I bought my plaid scarf last year but there are so many similar ones like this, this, and this. You can’t go wrong with gray and plaid. And the gray chunky scarf is an old favorite.
My brother is in town and since we won’t see each other over Thanksgiving, we’re enjoying making this week as festive as possible. That includes watching Elf, cooking dinner together, spending time with C, and reminiscing our Christmas traditions.
Wow, I’m really feeling Christmas early this year (ha!). Thankful for our plentiful cool fronts including the one that’s arriving this evening :)
XO
