It is currently 65 degrees inside our house because I left our windows open a little too wide last night and now I’m happily freezing. I am all cozied up in multiple layers and wearing socks for the first time in months. I’m running on about 4 hours of sleep (maybe?) and Charlie is all nestled in a boppy pillow on my kitchen table so I can eat breakfast and sip my coffee while I type this post.
Yesterday Eric watched our little man while I was able to squeeze in a photoshoot and that simple gesture nearly made me cry. (It’s pretty easy to cry these days, I’ll be honest…) He also let me escape Friday night to meet some girlfriends and then get a manicure on Saturday. We’re doing our best to find balance over here and I cherish these little getaways.
Having some ‘Me’ time has helped fuel my creativity and I’m so excited about all the content I have coming to the blog soon. I wanted to give you a sneakpeak of some of the outfits I’ll be showing!
I absolutely love neutral colors and how easily gray blends with both black and white. You can get away with wearing white all year round in Texas (not that I like to follow ‘no white after Labor Day’ rule anyway). How fun is the above ruffled top? It’s off the shoulder too so a little more edgy for a cozy date night look. Swoon ;) My favorite over the knee boots are back in stock, and oh my, I do love that trend! They sure make your legs look long and lean, don’t they? I LOVE the gray ones I bought but I’ve also been anxious to snag a pair in black. These boots are gorgeous and currently on sale for under $100! Love a good deal!
Wearing burgundy and plum is one of my favorite seasonal trends for fall. I always pull out those dark rich colors and cozy them up with a scarf or cute jacket. I love the open shoulder detail of this pretty sweater which is only $45! So gorgeous & feminine and pairs well with denim & some cute mules (I can’t get enough of this pair & they’re on sale again!) I will say they run a tad small so order a size up! I bought size 9 when I normally do 8.5 ;) I am obsessed.
I bought my jeans a few years ago so they aren’t actually in stock. However, I think everyone has their own preferences for jean shopping. I do a lot of mine at the 7 for Mankind outlet out in San Marcos. However, Nordstrom has a great selection you can check out here and I’ve also been eyeing this pair from Shopbop for so long! Where do you buy your jeans?
GALS. You need this dress. The minute I stepped into Madewell and saw it, I knew I had to take it home with me. It’s silk and comes in the most gorgeous olive color. I love the elegant tie neck and dainty floral detail. I can’t wait to show you what it looks like on!
If you didn’t catch yesterday’s post, I’m starting a new Q&A series with details about my life! I would love to hear your questions so please email me! theautumngirlxo@gmail.comĀ
