Good Morning Friends! How are you guys? I am back in action! Well, I mean sort of. If back in action means making myself a cup of coffee, brushing my teeth, and getting a blog post up, then YES. I am rockin’ and rollin’ here.
I was spoiled last week with 5 nights with both of my parents in town and another 3 with my Mom. Today was the first day I made myself breakfast in ten days and guess what, I AM CAPABLE ;)
Life with Charlie has been surreal. When people say they can stare at their babies all day, I finally know what they mean. I know he’s only 10 days old, but I’m already working on deciphering between what he needs and what he wants which means having to put him back to bed at 3am after a feeding even when I am enjoying his curious face as he studies mine. It’s the most special thing to see your child try and figure you out.
We’ve had some rough nights but we’ve also had some really great ones where he has slept for a few four hour stints. So I’m thanking my lucky stars and rolling with what sleep I have every day!
Anyway, I could talk baby all day but I’m really excited to finally share this outfit!
I was 36 weeks pregnant in this shoot and clearly ready for fall weather. It’s 5 weeks later and Austin is still struggling to get there. That’s how it is in Texas y’all. I’m one of those people who has to turn on the news every morning just to catch the weather so I can plan my week. And this Wednesday we’re going to get a bit of a break with some cool air. I’m talking mornings in the 60s yo. I plan on taking Charlie down to Mozart’s Coffee on the lake and blogging while cozied up in layers.
We really need cool weather so I can bring out this faux leather jacket again. I bought it in July, if you can believe it, in anticipation of the season! It’s so chic and pairs nicely with denim, booties, and stripes. I can’t wait to add a layer of scarves as well. It’s also $100 and such a great staple for your closet and really adds that sophisticated touch to an outfit. I am carrying my Everlane red clutch which adds the perfect pop of color to my ensemble. It folds over and holds all my essentials!
Alright, that’s it for me! Keeping it short & sweet as my sleeping baby is about to wake up! We got down to the pumpkin patch this morning and a friend stopped by to bring me a salad, so I’m feeling happy as a clam! I’ve got to get a few emails out before tending to this cute kid!
