With my due date looming around the corner and the arrival of baby D any day now, my nesting instinct has kicked in full force. Our house is clean. Our essentials are ready. And it’s a patient waiting game.
Being a new mom can be overwhelming. And even with 9 months of preparation time, there still can be endless questions. What’s the right time to start this? What kind of product will I need for that? I’m so thankful for a few of my girlfriends who are going through this process right now with me. I’ve had so much support and help through every step of the way!
I’m also thankful for Babbleboxx who just sent me a package of amazing goodies to get me started in motherhood. There are a few items I’m familiar with from being a preschool teacher and a few items I’m excited to try!
Here’s a peek at what came in my box :)
Who knew that one article of clothing could make such a world of difference in a woman’s life? I’ve been living in nursing bras these days, just trying to get used to the feel of them. I’ve been sleeping in them too! The Playtex Nursing Bra provides a ton of support, has a cool comfort fabric so I don’t get overheated, and has fabulous stretch! It’s so easy to unclip and clip the strap back on which will be super handy when I start feeding. Plus the material is so SOFT. Thank goodness! Comfort is key. I highly recommend trying this brand and you can snag your own here!
OSH KOSH BABY B’GOSH BABY CLOTHES
Raise your hand if you’re a sucker for baby clothing! It has taken all my willpower not to buy everything I see. Especially the little boy polos, sweaters, and shoes. When I opened my package from Babbleboxx to find a SWEATER SET ( all caps necessary) + ‘Hello World’ onesie, I immediately started swooning. My little guy has no idea how much fall clothing he will own or how many pictures he’ll be taking at pumpkin patches in cute sweater sets like these. Psssst the hoodie has little ears on it… need I say more? Osh Kosh now has sizes that go up to 5t!

I don’t know what you’re mode of exercise is, but as a mama to-be, daily walks are key for me. They help keep my spirits and energy levels high. And I love getting my heart rate up while walking the trail. When my baby is here, I expect to maintain my walks and I’m so excited to use my Mumbrella extension for my stroller. The sun is strong in Austin and this umbrella is 50 UV coated to protect you from that sunshine while you walk. Or if you suspect a little mist coming your way, you’ll have protection from that precipitation. A multi-use accessory is my kind of accessory.

MUSTELA HYDRA BÉBÉ BODY LOTION
I’m super protective of my skin and I know I’ll be very protective of my baby’s as well. Especially a newborn with his soft skin with and sweet smell. Enter Mustela’s every day body lotion that is hypoallergenic and natural, and said to preserve a baby’s cellular richness of their skin. I actually registered for several Mustela baby products as I’ve heard great reviews! They are a reputable brand that many friends have recommended.

One of the products we used daily on our toddlers at school last year was Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. When you live in diapers, it’s easy to develop a diaper rash! And I hate seeing the cutest little faces express discomfort when I change them. It can be tough being a little babe! We had a few products at school that different parents brought in but I found Bondreaux’s to work the best and quickest. One minute a child would be crying and the next he’d feel relief. I’ve even tested this product on my own skin and it worked like a charm. I’ve stocked up on extra tubes since I know we’ll fly through them! I should probably start ordering more diapers now too ;)
New mamas learn quickly how essential it is to have a good diaper bag. After working with toddlers for years, I realized how quickly kiddos go through diapers. And how necessary it is to have an easy-to-use go-to bag. I love this multi-pocketed bag from Lands End! It’s lightweight, has tons of room, and many places for me to keep my wipes, diapers, & lotions for my baby. If you’re at a loss for what to get a friend who is having a baby, I suggest a diaper bag! This one has straps that will allow me to fit it onto my stroller too ;) A win’s a win.
I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to be using this product. As someone who is regularly stressed and has developed quite a few deep lines in my forehead, I have become religious about applying lotion to my face when I wake up, after each shower, and of course, before bed. This serum is immediately refreshing to the touch and makes my face feel hydrated and soft. The hyaluronic acid in this product is said to fight natural aggressors such as stress and fatigue.
