Hi there! Happy Wednesday :) How is your week going so far? It’s been a hot one here but as August moves forward, we’re getting closer and closer to my favorite season and weather. So I’m doing my best to hang in there and enjoy the sunshine, warm nights, and time in the water. And I’ve been visiting friends, grabbing the occasional juice, and spending lots of time preparing for this baby. I think because I have been considerably warned about being pregnant in the dead of summer in Texas, it hasn’t been as bad as I thought. If I exercise in the mornings and do my chores inside in the afternoons, its pretty manageable. What do you do to combat the heat?

One of my favorite ways to fight sunshine is with a floppy hat. This hat is only $22 and looks SO cute with a dress or even your favorite beach cover up. I am in love with a pretty hat and decided to wear it with this black floral maternity dress and get excited about fall. This dress is under $30 and so effortless and comfortable. There’s a similar one for you non-pregnant gals that are as excited about fall as I am but don’t need that extra belly room. It’s a cold shoulder dress from Nordstrom which you know means free shipping & returns ;) My favorite. I’m wearing black booties I bought last year and linked a similar pair with a lower heel that I wish I had in each color. They’re a perfect seasonal transition piece and make an outfit come together so well. I’m wearing my favorite Daniel Wellington watch which I finally got after months of wanting one :) This is the kind of outfit I’d wear to meet some girls for happy hour or E on a date night (and I’d ditch the hat).

On the day we shot these photos, it was only 78 degrees (we had just had a bit of rain) and I loved getting out and pretending cooler weather was coming. But alas, we are back to triple digit numbers and I’m just gonna have to get back in the AC with my ice water! ;) I just started Game of Thrones but it’s kind of overwhelming… I was shocked with the ending of the first episode and I’m wondering if its really for me… Are any of you GOT fans? How soon will I be hooked?

This weekend our friends are hosting a baby shower for us and I’m excited to hang out at their house and catch up with friends. Having fun weekends planned has really helped me get through these long weeks of waiting for baby. Only 6 weeks 5 days left until I my due date… Not that I’m counting each and every day or second or anything ;) It will be here before I know it though and I seriously can’t wait!
