Ethical fashion. Hmmmm. I’d never really put too much thought into that before I was introduced to Everlane. I never really thought about where my clothes were being made or how. It just didn’t cross my mind. What I knew about Everlane is that one of my favorite fashion bloggers wore a simple striped dress from there, and I wanted one for myself. When they reached out to me about attending a happy hour in Austin, I couldn’t wait to meet them.
Everlane is an ethical fashion brand that focuses on #basics that are affordable and made in factories where workers are treated right. They saw how fashion companies across America would mark their products up 8 to 10 times before selling and wanted to create a brand of the same quality without the outrageous pricing. Have you ever picked up a t-shirt (TEE SHIRT) in a store and wondered how on earth it costs $150? Yeah, I have too and that’s why Everlane practices ‘radical transparency’ by providing information on where their products are made and how much it costs to make them. You’ll never feel confused or tricked.
What I love about Everlane besides their mission to provide products that are ethically made is their basic style. So many of their pieces you can pair with different things. I decided to try this stripe dress (only $25!) and wear it with their bridge sandal which is so comfortable and classic. I can just feel the amazing quality of both of these pieces. I was so pumped when they gifted me this gorgeous red fold-over clutch which has quickly become a favorite statement piece in my closet. It just gives your outfit a little bit of oomph. I’m wearing a size medium in this dress but I could have probably gone with a small, even with my bump. I want to get this dress next because I love the fine stripes and think it would be so cute with a denim jacket for fall. And maybe a cute fedora too ;)
Well that’s all for me! It’s Saturday after all and I’m ready to get out and about again. E & I walked the dogs 4 miles this morning and treated ourselves to smoothies at Juiceland :) We have friends in town so we’re heading to the pool and a comedy show tonight. And I’m ushering Million Dollar Quartet tomorrow at Zach Theater. I can’t wait! Happy Weekend!
