I’m still on a high after a perfect weekend getaway to the mountains. Eric and I flew out to Colorado to visit with my brothers who live out there and sister who happened to be visiting her boyfriend. We rented a cabin in Winter Park and were surprised with a snowy morning Saturday where I curled up by the fire with a book and cozy blanket. It was completely bizarre to watch the snow fall and remember that June is only a few days away but it was also kind of magical and a great escape from the heat.

We couldn’t do much hiking but we did drive to Rocky Mountain National Park to explore. We saw countless amounts of elk but most impressively, ELEVEN moose! Eleven, yes! I have been on many wildlife searches with my family over the years and we all know that seeing a moose is rare. They generally travel alone and are spread out. But we saw quite a few meandering the mountainside and even caught a glimpse of a calf! It was amazing!

After two nights in Winter Park, we drove back down to sunny Denver where we joined our family for a barbecue in honor of our newest family member, sweet little Bea Morris. I was so excited to meet my cousin’s little one and she was so tiny in my arms. Eric had a chance to hold her and he wasn’t going to give her up too easy when it was my turn. I thought it was adorable (and great practice!).

My grandparents were also in town so we got to spend a lot of quality time with them and my cousins. It was so much fun and I’m looking forward to seeing the gang again this August :)

This week I’m off of work before going back for summer session so I’m getting errands done and back into my work out routine :) I love having time off! My sister arrives tomorrow and I can’t wait to hang by the pool, get manicures, and take her around town.
