Hi there friends! I hope you are having a great week! It’s been a dreary start to ours over here but I’m loving this cooler weather and much needed rain. I don’t have to feel guilty about getting much needed cleaning done inside or taking an extra nap (or two). Soon enough I’ll be whining about the heat but for now, I’m loving this transition into summer.
A cute tee with shorts is my favorite casual style and I’m so glad I found these adorable denim maternity shorts that I have been living in. I probably should get another pair because I wear these every day. They’re so comfortable and have the perfect elastic to wrap over that bump and go with all my tees! I know they’ll continue to be my best friend this summer.
For some reason, the idea of buying maternity clothing completely stressed me out. I didn’t know when I should be doing it or where to even begin. What all would I need? Would I have to keep going back again and again as I got bigger? There were so many questions I had and the thought of it gave me anxiety.
My parents were here a few weeks ago and my mom treated me to a few items at A Pea in the Pod. After putting on my shorts, I immediately realized how uncomfortable I had been the past few weeks! It made such a difference and I’m glad I had her there to help me. I think the first few items you’ll really need are a good pair of leggings, jeans, and shorts (if you’re entering or living in a warm climate). Comfortable pants and bottoms are a necessity for that growing belly! I think they are the best place to start.
Are any of you huge Madewell fans? I absolutely love the comfortable, classic & casual style that actually is made well. Stripes & denim are my go-to for summer and I adore this little tee (which is available in black and white stripes). I think this outfit would look even better with this Brixon fedora, don’t you?
My brother in law is in town with his girlfriend and we have been having fun showing them around Austin. It’s supposed to be sunny today so we’re going to try and get out on the lake!
Thanks for stopping by :)

This is what I think of when I think of classic summer style. Denim shorts and a striped v-neck. So perfect! Glad you found some maternity shorts you like! I was impressed that you were wearing non-maternity for so long! I started shopping early, but haven’t transitioned to maternity bottoms quite yet. I’m still rigging my pre-pregnancy denim with a hair tie for as long as I can. ;) I think I have another week or two left.

Thanks Britney! Once you find a good pair of maternity shorts & pants, you’ll be living in them :) I can still wear some non-maternity pants but they get uncomfortable after a while. How many weeks along are you? I’m so excited for you!
