It’s getting hot in Austin, y’all.  And I’m getting summer ready. Can you believe its almost here? I’ve had a mixture of feelings about it. Part of me is super excited about cookouts, maxi dresses, boat days, and all our travel plans. But part of me is dreading the extreme heat, especially as a pregnant person who gets very grouchy when overheated… I’m glad we’ll be visiting cooler places but I’ll be hanging inside a lot come August and September, Netflix ready, and awaiting baby.

As summer approaches, I love getting organized by cleaning out of my closet and storing away all my fall and winter clothing. I hang up my light and bright prints so they’re easily accessible and create a drawer for all my swim and beach gear.

My summer essentials include a comfortable swimsuit, excellent hair products, and of course light nail colors, jewelry, and airy scents. One of my favorite hair products I have been using is Miracle It’s a 10 products. I spray my Leave In Conditioner in my hair after every shower and not only does it detangle it, it makes it bright and shiny the rest of the day. I love the way my hair feels with it.  I just recently received several other products I’ve been trying including their shampoo and I absolutely love it.

I just recently bought the cutest Pineapple Stud Earrings from Baublebar and they are so sparkly and beautiful (and under $30!). I love wearing them with dresses and they are such a fun accessory. I also love my pink tassels and angelic drop earrings. My daily earrings are usually gold hoops (if I wear jewelry at all) but on the weekends, I like to have a little more fun :)

My parents were in town recently and my mom bought me the cutest present: a coral one piece maternity suit that I am absolutely in love with! It’s stretchy over the tummy and will grow as you do. It’s got the cutest crochet detailing and is so cute ON! I’ll be dedicating a full blog post to it soon but I couldn’t wait to share it with you all. I highly recommend for moms-to-be and moms who have just had a baby. It’s the best!

I think the thing I love most about summer is the feeling of freedom and relaxation. Everyone seems to kind of be on the same page. You feel like you’re ready to get away. The sun sets later and your mood is lighter. The pace of life seems to slow a little (at least for us here in ATX). It’s a great feeling.
