Happy Monday Y’all! Eric and I are back in action after a festive weekend in Ohio celebrating our dear friends getting married. We’re in the midst of our very busy travel schedule and I’m enjoying a few of these nights where we have nothing on the calendar and can sit at home with the pups and chill. We finally have had a cool front come through Austin. And though I know it will only last a short while and we’re sure to get some warm temperatures again, I’m enjoying every second of this Icanactuallywearasweatshirtinthemorning weather.
Sometimes it can be tricky dressing seasonally appropriate when you live in a climate that won’t cooperate with the season. But I’ve got some tips for you :) Starting with color. Think olive, burgundy, wine, plaid, black– a little darker color tone. I adore this knotted tee I bought in August that is perfect for transitioning from Summer to Fall and is the perfect casual top. I also love this cross tee in grey that comes in three other colors and is the perfect tee for the weekend and mixing and matching different scarves and necklaces :) I have a post dedicated to it coming soon to the blog. But take a sneak peek if you like it as much as I do!
Burgundy and olive tops are classic fall colors and I adore this inexpensive Jcrew sweater. The Jcrew outlets are where its at… Am I right? Along with their plethora of amazing sweaters for such a fair price, they also kill it with plaid. My favorite. Nothing says pumpkin season quite like a red flannel and I’m hoping to add a white one to my wardrobe this year. How amazing is this plaid scarf from Steve Madden? I just want to wrap myself in it and sip a hot tea. Another favorite scarf is this red flannel one. Pair it with that grey tee up above. You’ll love it. And when you’re still dealing with heat, just wrap that flannel shirt around your waste with denim and a plain white top and you’ve got yourself a transitional outfit ;)
Well that’s it for me today guys. I caught a bit of a cold this weekend so I’m off to finish some must-do errands before I post up on the couch with The Royal We, a book I stayed up late eventhoughIwasexhausted reading. It’s SO GOOD.
Have a good one! Stay tuned for a fun dress and a pumpkin themed post coming at ya this week :)
