Wow… time sure flies when you’re having fun. Next month Eric and I will be celebrating 2 years of marriage! I cannot believe it. We will be traveling to Vermont to visit fall colors for our Anniversary. He knows me well :)
I decided to share this shoot for some bridesmaid dress inspiration! I know many of you are planning weddings and getting married and are in that initial stage of the process. I hope you enjoy every minute of it like I did!
One of my favorite things about planning our wedding (besides the obvious end result of marrying my best friend) was picking the color scheme and dresses for my bridesmaids. Now I’m sure you’ll be surprised to know that I was adamant about having a fall wedding…WHO KNEW! ;) When looking at possible dates, we discovered that my parents October 11th anniversary fell on a Saturday and it seemed like fate to share that date with them. So we chose that glorious October afternoon to get married in Kenilworth, Illinois, in the same church I grew up in and the same church my parents were married in. It was magical.
There are so many things to think about when planning a wedding. The when, the where, the budget, the colors, the time of year– it can be overwhelming! But when it is all said and done, staying true to yourself and planning a wedding that is so ultimately YOU GUYS is all worth it.
In this photoshoot, I am wearing the same dress I wore as the Matron of Honor in my best friend’s wedding last summer. I adore the neckline of this blush pink sweetheart dress from Jim Hjelm with a sheer tie up top! So feminine and gorgeous!
I had fun re-creating this look for a shoot at Laguna Gloria. I decided to mix up the wedding themes and pair this gorgeous pink dress (so perfect for spring and summer!) with a fall bouquet from Austin Flower Market. I just LOVE these colors!
Gorgeous bouquet, right?! Below is how we all looked in this dress with our Bride!

For my wedding, I went for a different bridesmaid look more fitting for October. I was anxious to have bright autumn florals and a dress that would match it. I met some of my bridesmaids at a bridal store in downtown Chicago and after they tried on these Bill Levkoff dresses in navy, I was sold. I love the color navy. I think it looks great on everyone :) My bridesmaids have different body shapes and coloring so I chose to have each wear a different style dress that they felt most comfortable in. Don’t they look gorgeous with those flowers? I was so happy.

Another color I adore for bridesmaid dresses is champagne. I think it’s a multi-seasonal color that could work with almost any wedding so long as you pair it with the right flowers! I tagged a few more fun dress ideas below including another gorgeous navy dress & deep green :) Click right to find the others!
As amazing as weddings and their ultimate purpose are, they can also be very stressful. Make sure you make a list of the most important things about it for yourself so you can navigate the planning process with a better scope of what you want. Ultimately, have a blast and enjoy the process because it’s your day and your moment!
Thanks for reading.
