Remember when I told you “wait until you see the rest” of this photoshoot from Laguna Gloria? Well here you go… Could be Italy, right? The breathtaking views of this location that is right here in Austin are unreal. I feel like a movie star on set! What’s funny is that when we shot this, it was a summer evening in July at 5pm (WHO ARE WE) and it was 103 degrees out… Kelsey may or may not have had to photoshop some sweat beads and stains out of the pictures. Soooooo not glamorous… but soooo necessary. I’m ectastic these pictures turned out the way they did! What a fab photographer ;) Anyway, on to dressing up…
There is something so thrilling about putting a fancy dress & high heels on that I can’t seem to pin point exactly. Maybe its thrilling because I usually get to dance if I am wearing something fancy. Maybe it means I get to listen to live music. Or maybe it’s that whole idea of really putting yourself together and feeling beautiful that just feels amazing. Whatever it may be, I love it.
As soon as I found out I would be getting glammed up with Kiss the Girl Hair and Kelsey would be shooting, I was anxious to find a really neat dress to wear. I was home for a week in July and looking for an old favorite dress of mine when I stumbled upon this gorgeous coral floor length gown in my mom’s closet. I had completely forgotten about it– it was something she bought a few years before at Intermix for some family weddings. I love the side slit and the bright color. I was so happy my mom let me borrow it.

For the past few years, Eric and I have been on the wedding circuit. Quite a few of these weddings have been black tie and trying to find an appropriate ensemble can be tricky. The first store I like to browse is Bloomingdales. I had easy access in Chicago where I could pop into the store, but now that I’m in Austin, I have to browse online. Bloomingdales has so many options and for all different prices. I love this gorgeous BCBG strapless coral dress and this similar tulip dress for a cheaper price. Both are excellent head turning pieces. I also love a fancy black dress because you can style it with any other color and black tends to look good on everyone. I love this gorgeous V Neck floor-length dress in black (that also comes in red!). It’s sophisticated and chic and can be worn for years to come.
