[…] with time & place. But what I will tell you is that I’m making great headway with my Summer Goal list and I’m so stoked. Especially since summer doesn’t technically start until next […]
Monday Monday… oh how these weekends do pass fast!
I am in awe that this is the last full week of school before summer begins. I’m working summer school this year. It actually kind of makes me laugh when I think about it because I work with toddlers and the idea of them attending summer school just sounds funny. But totally understandable! Why wouldn’t parents want their kiddos to keep learning in the summer? Summer session is solely in June, so one extra month of teaching (and saving mulah!) sounds good to me…
I’ve been thinking a lot of about summer lately and the things I want to accomplish and do. It’s going to be a fun one, I can tell you that. We’ve got a family reunion in Kansas City, a trip to Hilton Head to see my grandparents, a couple of weddings, and my trip with my sisters to Europe at the end of July. I’m saving every penny I can for this trip of a lifetime with my best friends. We’re already gearing up for a Harry Potter tour in London and a day trip to Cinque Terre when we visit Florence. Brit is planning our adventures so we can expect a budget friendly week. Maybe we’ll have some leftover cash for authentic leather in Florence. OH MY GOD I AM SO EXCITED.
I have decided that it is time to set some small goals for this summer. You have probably noticed a little bit of a transition with my blog. I’ve been writing more about fashion and less about other things. I LOVE all the other good stuff- the home decor, recipes, happiness lists– etc, don’t get me wrong! I’m just trying to discover my niche… Which brings me to my list of goals:
...Figure out what I want my blog to really be about. What do I want to accomplish? Who do I want to reach? Who can I inspire?…
…continue focusing on content & thorough writing…
…Get in touch with my camera again and try to take more pictures with it instead of my phone…
… Create a new signature for my blog instead of “xxo Marguerite”… aka learn a little HTML… I can do it, I can!
… Explore more of Austin and do it cheaply… there are plenty of neat spots that don’t break the bank! My friend Kelsey and I have created a little bucket list. I can’t wait to begin our adventures!
..attend a few blogging events with fellow creative friends…
… Buy something authentic leather in Florence… I love finding things I can’t get just anywhere…
… Make that stationary I talked about in March…
…bring tubes to Pedernales State Park and float the river with E…
…And finally, read more. I love reading but I have been a bit lazy with it lately… I want to read at least 10 books this summer!…
That’s it for now. I took this picture last week of a repurposed pasta sauce jar that I filled with these pretty yellow roses. It just gives me all the warm & sunny feels.
Have a wonderful kickstart to your week.

Girl this list is EVERYTHING! You have soo many trips planned I am ultra jelly — Cinque Terre in Florence and HP in London?! I can’t even imagine the excitement! Also reading, more blogging events, exploring Austin…yes, yes, and yes. Hearing you say that it’s the last full week of school is crazy! Seriously the reminder I needed to start planning some beach getaways and lake time outings. Happy Monday lady!
